chinatown

I like walking by myself round chinatown. partly 'cause i don't think anyone likes to scrutinise the weird trinkets going at "1 for $4, 3 for $10" or "2 for $9" etc, the way i do. and partly 'cause i would be embarrassed to let anyone watch me do said scrutinising :) it's like some sort of guilty pleasure! though i ultimately don't buy anything hahaha. which is, equally silly.

On the topic of china and towns, i also like china (though it is nothing like chinatown, duh)! as uncultured and bad in chinese i am, i just love how scenic it can get, and really enjoy immersing myself in the various atmospheres ranging from city to suburbs, much as my poor mandarin hinders my interaction with the locals. For the december family vacation i am going to suggest going to Xi'An. I was there before, 2 years ago, on a school trip, and 10 days of rushed guided tours left me wanting more.

Okay, as much as i would love to ramble on i have to return to dreaded biochem. anyway this post isn't all that random as it might seem ok! i was by myself in chinatown earlier, and the above points occurred to me  whilst i was there so decided i must type them down somewhere. So there.
