sis is at orientation now and there's a sleepover in school for her tonight. i feel bad for her. really. i recall so distinctly hating the orientation sleepover 4 years ago. she seems optimistic, but ohwell she was always better at such stuff than me so we'll see :)

anw it's quite funny but seems like the tendency to lose handphones runs in the family- yesterday sis told me about her close encounter at school. she'd accidentally thrown her handphone without realizing, in the canteen bin after recess! that's pro-er than anything i've managed so far, but thankfully she discovered it was missing soon after and went into a frenzy, reporting it to the GO and all the usual, they dispatched greenmen and prefects who found it in the bin>< rather funny, but they could only laugh about it after the phone was recovered.

and this morning another long-held myth--regarding relative conservativeness--i had regarding old people was almost entirely dispelled, no less by the old (-as-my-grandfather) fruiterer at the market who told mum that 你的女儿这么大了,要给她找个“朋友” o.o and after than he grinned! i laughed in a most mortified manner. and after recently reading all those classics that qingling 姑姑 gave to us (from her uni days at lit course i think) i really think that we're so fortunate these days to not have our entire destinies dependent on "how well we marry". ugh. it's quite abhorrent to imagine how so many women were compelled into marriage at such tender ages; sickens me to the core really. okay enough of this or i could go on forever :/
